really helped me! I want to be able to be that person that shows love to someone who might just need a hug and big smile. You never know what people are going through so I just want to be able to live the golden rule and do unto others as I would have them do unto me. I also seen the strong bond that the members of the Sisters had, like a second family feeling, and coming from a very small family, I wanted that. I didn't know exactly what I was in for when I sent my letter of aspiration, but a year and a half later I can say that it has been a great experience and I look forward to being fully professed!
What is your personal mission or ministry?
I'm still learning my path in my ministry but I feel that my calling is with the LGBTQ + community. I struggled with my sexuality as a kid and wished that I had met the Sisters when I was younger to help me understand that it’s okay to be who I was on the inside. Just to have that someone that you can go to and talk to. Someone to bring joy into what can be a very dark time in life. Being a Sister has also helped me personally get over my own fears and thoughts of what others think of me. Dressing in makeup and dresses and wearing a coronet in front of large crowds of people, was a little awkward at first. But after being able to meet and talk with so many people and see how much of a difference it makes, that’s what makes it all worth it. I want to just be e for my community and show that I love and support them.
Name at least one person (living or dead - met them or not) who inspires you?
My biological mom.
What is your favorite quote?
"Spread love everywhere you go. Let no one ever come to you without leaving happier."
What is your social media presence?
Novice Sister Penni P. N'cher
Why did you choose that name?
It just kinda came to me one day. It’s a play on the words “penny pincher” as I’ve always been very frugal with money. The name penni reminds me of the clown and in a sense we are “clown nuns” so it was fitting. Fun fact also; I was scared of clowns as a kid, so it’s kind of funny to resemble one now that I’m older
Who is your mother in the Order?
Sister Sheida Token
Why did you join the Order?:
I joined the Worldwide order of The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence to express my creativity. Being a Sister gives me the ability to be a different persona and do things that I've always thought weren't for boys such as wearing dresses and doing makeup. I also joined the Sisters to give back to a community that I've grown to finally feel accepted in. It took so long for me to accept the fact that I was different and I felt like I couldn't relate to others. Finding the LGBTQ + community and PRIDE events
